Three Interface Forms of the Ultra-Miniature SMP Connetor

SMP Connector is a kind of push-in and nip-in combination connector, its interface is the same proportion as the MMCX connector ultra-small interface, the smallest size of the installation density can reach the connector center spacing 4.3mm, so it is very suitable for high-density blind mating. It is especially suitable for high-density blind mating between printed boards, chassis and cabinets, and is generally used as full escapement / half escapement + linkage + optical hole.

                           
SMP connector, also known as GPO connector, can work in the frequency range of up to 40G, with a compact structure and practical high frequency, fast connection, strong shock resistance, widely used in array antennas, satellite communications, radar and other occasions.

SMP is divided into three interface forms of optical hole, half escapement and full escapement according to different connection holding power, which meet different application requirements respectively.                
1、Smooth bore type interface (Smooth bore) has the smallest connection holding force, allowing axial and radial misalignment, often used for blind connection or non-precision type measurement, with long service life, up to 5000-10000 times.

                          
2, Full escapement interface (Full detent), the best connection holding force, anti-vibration, shock performance is the best. Because it is not easy to remove the connection, even though the stability is very high, it will greatly affect the service life and convenience of the product, the service life is only about 100-300 times, so it is often used for cable connection.

                          
3, Half escapement interface, also known as limited escapement interface (Limited detent), a combination of the advantages of the optical aperture and full escapement, high test stability, service life of up to 1000-2000 times, suitable for precision-type measurements.
