1.3 Reflection mode test method
This test method uses the reflection mode of the vector network analyzer to test the phase stable cable bending before and after the phase change. The test procedure uses only one port of the analyzer, and a short is connected to the specimen terminal. The total phase shift of the measured phase stable cable specimen consists of the phase shift of the signal from the analyzer to the specimen terminal and the phase shift of the signal from the terminal back to the analyzer, so the phase shift of the cable specimen should be half of the measured value.
As shown in Figure 3, the phase stable cable assembly under test is connected to the test port of the instrument, the other end of the assembly is connected to a short, the phase stable cable assembly is naturally straightened, the phase-frequency curve is measured, and zero calibration is performed.
