One end of the sample under test (Port1) is always connected to the network analyzer, and the other end (Port2) is disconnected from the network analyzer, and the mandrel with the specified diameter D is placed near the center of the sample, and then the sample is coiled 360" against the mandrel. Then the disconnected end (Port2) will be reconnected to the network analyzer, the test phase - frequency curve will change, and record the amount of phase change at different frequencies.
